Butterfly Network (BFLY) Stock Forecast & Price Target

Butterfly Network is well positioned because its proprietary cMUT Ultrasound-on-Chip technology creates a structurally differentiated, low-cost handheld platform that can perform whole-body imaging with a single probe, supporting share gains in a multi-billion-dollar ultrasound market and expanding use cases across home care and veterinary settings. The bigger fundamental upside comes from the Embedded model, where 12 partnerships, including Midjourney, Mendaera, and Merge, can generate upfront fees, chip sales, development revenue, and royalties, with Embedded already reaching 33% of total sales in 2Q26 and helping gross margin rise to 71.4%. With 2026 revenue guidance of $119 million to $123 million, $125 million in cash, no debt, and a path to free cash flow breakeven in 2027, the company appears capable of funding growth while turning innovation into a scalable, high-margin platform.

Butterfly Network is viewed negatively because its growth could slow as Embedded partnerships take longer to commercialize, delaying operating expense leverage and leaving most revenue dependent on the core business, which was about two-thirds of the mix as of 2Q26. Competition from much larger imaging players such as GE Healthcare, Philips, Siemens Healthineers, and United Imaging may pressure share in POCUS, while the company’s $300+ million chip investment and ongoing next-generation development could keep it unprofitable until its LRP’s 2027 FCF breakeven. Despite $125 million in cash and investments and no debt at the end of 2Q26, shares trade at a 2026 EV/sales multiple of 15.5x, a steep premium that could contract if growth disappoints or Embedded milestones slip.
